Associate Vice President
Professor Joan W. Bennett is a fungal
geneticist whose research specialty is mold toxins. She is a past vice
president of the British Mycological Society, past president of both the
American Society for Microbiology and the Society for Industrial Microbiology,
and a member of the National Academy of Sciences.
After 35 years on the faculty of Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, Joan joined Rutgers University in 2006 as associate vice president for academic affairs, charged with developing a new campuswide effort to support women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Joan is known internationally for her work promoting women entering these fields.

Associate Director
Catherine Duckett is an entomologist originally from central New Jersey
whose research specialty is leaf beetle evolution and taxonomy. She is a
graduate of Brown University (BA, 1983), University of Texas (MA, 1987),
and Cornell University (PhD, 1993). She has been a faculty member at
the University of Puerto Rico, a researcher at the Smithsonian Institution,
and a bioinformatics administrator at Rutgers before joining the Office for
the Promotion of Women in Science, Engineering, and Mathematics.
